This article contains offical information on the EU Directive on Airborne Organic Compounds with regards to final dates of usage and stocks. Now is the time to start experimenting with water based painting before it's too late. In order to comply with the legal provisions of Directive 2004/42/EC and national legislation regarding the limitation of emissions of Airborne Organic Compounds, as of 01.01.2007 it will no longer be possible to purchase paint products for the Refinish sector that have a solvent content exceeding the threshold established by said EU Directive and relative national legislation on the EU market. This prohibition regards all products produced after 01.01.2007, while paints produced before this date, even if not compliant to the directive, can still be sold on the market, although only until 31.12.2007. Given the above, we still have stock of non-compliant products manufactured in 2006 which will be sold until the end of the year or until stocks run out - which ever comes first.
